Connecting Stripe

The actual click path, what gets created on Stripe's side, and the four most common stalls.

Stripe is how ApptOnly accepts card payments on your behalf. Connecting it takes about five minutes if you have your paperwork in hand. (what is Stripe)

What you need before you start

  • A government-issued photo ID (driver's license or passport).
  • A tax identifier (SSN if you are a sole proprietor in the US; EIN if you formed an LLC; RFC if you are in Mexico).
  • The routing and account numbers for the bank you want payouts to go to.
  • A business address (your home address is fine if you operate from there).

The click path

  1. Go to Settings, Payments. (During onboarding, this is the fourth step of the wizard.)
  2. Click Connect with Stripe. ApptOnly hands you off to Stripe's site in a new tab.
  3. Stripe asks for your email and sends a verification code. Enter it.
  4. Fill in business details: name, address, type (individual or company), industry. For solo wellness pros, "Individual" or "Sole proprietorship" is usually right; pick "Health and wellness" or "Personal services" for industry.
  5. Enter your tax ID and a date of birth.
  6. Add the bank account for payouts.
  7. Upload a photo of your ID. Stripe runs a quick automated verification.
  8. Review and submit. Stripe sends you back to ApptOnly.

The Payments settings screen now shows "Connected" with your business name from Stripe.

What Stripe creates

Behind the scenes, Stripe creates an Express account in your name. That account holds your payment data, your payout schedule, your dispute history. It belongs to you, not to ApptOnly. You can log in to dashboard.stripe.com directly with the email you signed up with to see the same account.

ApptOnly has limited access: we can create charges on your behalf, see basic payment metadata, and surface payout status. We cannot withdraw funds, change your bank account, or close your Stripe account.

When something stalls

"Your account is being reviewed." This is normal for new accounts and usually clears within a few business days. Stripe is verifying your identity against external records. Payments still process, but payouts may be held until review completes.

"Additional information required." Stripe is asking for one more thing, usually a clearer photo of your ID or a recent utility bill for address verification. Click through the prompt in your Stripe dashboard. ApptOnly shows the same prompt under Settings, Payments.

"Charges enabled: No." Your account was approved for receiving payouts but not for accepting charges yet. This is rare and usually resolves itself; if it persists past a few days, contact Stripe support.

Onboarding tab closed before you finished. Reopen ApptOnly, go to Settings, Payments, and click Continue with Stripe to resume where you left off.

Once you are connected

Your booking page can now accept card payments. The first booking that comes in tests the connection end to end. If it succeeds, the payment shows up in both ApptOnly (Finances, Transactions) and your Stripe dashboard.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect Stripe from Settings, Payments. Disconnecting does not delete your Stripe account; you can still access it directly. ApptOnly will switch your booking page back to "payment optional" mode. Existing scheduled payments and refunds continue to work; only new charges are blocked.
