Keep every new client.
MassageBook takes 15% of every new marketplace booking. ApptOnly is the MassageBook alternative that never takes a cut.
Keep every new client
MassageBook takes 15% of every new client booked through their marketplace ($6 minimum). On ApptOnly, you keep 100% of every booking from every source, forever.
Your brand, end to end
ApptOnly is white-label by default. Your booking page is your business, not a MassageBook sub-page.
Competitor pricing verified October 2026.
What MassageBook does well
MassageBook is built specifically for massage therapists, and that focus shows in the details.
Massage-specific by design
SOAP notes, draping preferences, and intake built around bodywork, not a generic salon tool with massage bolted on. The workflow speaks your profession's language.
A real client directory
MassageBook's marketplace can send genuinely new clients your way, with profiles, reviews, and discovery that a brand-new solo practice can struggle to build alone.
Polished booking flow
The client-facing booking experience is clean and reassuring, and gift certificates and email marketing are included on the Practice plan.
Why solo businesses look for a MassageBook alternative
The directory that brings you clients also takes a cut of them, and the plan that includes the good stuff isn't cheap.
15% on every new directory client
When a new client books you through the MassageBook marketplace, MassageBook keeps 15% of that first appointment, with a $6 minimum. Win enough new clients and that cut adds up quickly.
Practice is $59 a month
The plan that unlocks marketing and gift certificates runs $59 a month, which is more than ApptOnly's all-in price before a single marketplace fee is counted.
Their brand, not yours
Clients who find you through the directory experience MassageBook first and you second. Your booking presence lives inside their platform rather than standing on its own as your brand.
The real cost of MassageBook
The Practice plan is $59 a month, and every new client the directory sends you costs another cut. Here is the monthly math.
- Practice plan
- $59/mo
- Each new directory client15% of a $90 first visit ($6 minimum)
- $13.50
ApptOnly's annual plan is $20 a month less, or $240 a year, against MassageBook's standard price (AMTA members pay $44.25 a month and ABMP members $53.10), and we take 0% on every new client no matter who sends them to you.
How ApptOnly is different
Three reasons solo providers switch to ApptOnly. They're built in, not bolted on.
Bilingual EN/ES, end to end
Your booking page, intake forms, reminders, and receipts all speak your client's language. English or Spanish, switchable per client, with no add-on and no separate site.
Your brand, not ours
ApptOnly is white-label by default. Clients see your name, your colors, and your booking page. They never see a marketplace or a platform logo competing for their attention.
One price, no commissions
Forms, website, reminders, payments, and CRM are all included for one flat monthly price. We never take a percentage of a booking, from any source, ever.
Who should switch from MassageBook, and who should not
MassageBook is built for massage practices, and its Practice plan is built for solo practitioners. Here is where it still fits better, and where ApptOnly does. Each case rests on MassageBook's own pricing page or help center.
Switch to ApptOnly if
Your clients already find you on their own
Practice is $59 a month at MassageBook's standard price. ApptOnly Pro is $49 a month, or $39 a month on the annual plan. If referrals and your own site bring your clients, the directory is not doing that work, and the difference is yours to keep.
You want the whole first visit
When the MassageBook directory sends a new client, its help center says a 15% New Client Referral Fee comes out of that client's first payment, rounded up to $6 when 15% is less. It is a one-time fee, taken on that first visit only. ApptOnly takes no percentage of any booking, from any source.
Your clients would rather book in Spanish
ApptOnly keeps a language for each client, and the booking page, intake forms and client emails run in English or Spanish. Clients who speak Spanish at home can book in it.
Stay with MassageBook if
The directory sends you new clients
Every MassageBook plan, Launch included, comes with a listing in the MassageBook directory. Every plan also collects reviews through MassageBook and Google, which helps a new listing earn trust. ApptOnly has no directory. If most of your new clients find you there, the 15% fee on a first visit may be a price worth paying.
You schedule rooms and staff
MassageBook's Clinic plan adds unlimited staff seats, room assignment for room and equipment specific services, first available staff booking and waitlists, plus staff permissions by role and staff reporting. A practice that books rooms as well as people will find that work done in Clinic.
You sell couples sessions
MassageBook's Clinic plan includes couples massage bookings. ApptOnly has no couples booking. If side by side sessions are part of your menu, MassageBook handles them and ApptOnly does not.
Moving from MassageBook to ApptOnly
Your client list comes with you, and MassageBook already exports it in the format ApptOnly reads. Each step below comes from MassageBook's own help center and from ApptOnly's client import.
Export your clients from MassageBook
In your Business Profile, open Clients, select Import / Export, then Export client file. MassageBook's help center says this produces a CSV with first and last name, email, phone, alternate number, address, birthday, photo URL and source, and that only the Business Owner profile can export it. You can also filter the list first and download just those results.
Save your notes and forms first
The client file does not list SOAP notes or intake forms among its columns. MassageBook's help center gives separate steps for saving and emailing a SOAP note, saving and emailing a completed intake form, printing a receipt, and exporting reports. ApptOnly does not import these, so keep copies of the ones you need.
Import your clients into ApptOnly
Open Clients in ApptOnly and start the CSV import. It matches columns for first name, last name or full name, email, phone or landline, date of birth, notes and tags, and it recognizes headers in English or Spanish. You check the column mapping and a preview before anything is saved. Each import takes up to 500 clients, and a client whose email is already in ApptOnly is skipped, not duplicated.
Decide on marketing consent
Imported clients are left out of your marketing emails unless you opt the whole batch in, and opting in asks you to confirm that you have their consent. If you are unsure, leave it off and invite clients to join your list later.
Set up the rest by hand
Add your services and prices, set your hours, build your intake forms, connect payments and choose your booking page colors. Then put your ApptOnly booking link wherever clients find you today, starting with your own website.
Cancel when you are ready
MassageBook says a cancelled plan keeps its premium features until the next renewal date, then renews on its Free Plan. The Free Plan keeps client records, completed SOAP notes, completed intake forms, and sales activity and reports, but not the schedule, the cash register or online booking. You can still log in to read that history after you move.
ApptOnly does not move your data for you, and it does not import appointments, SOAP notes or intake form answers. The address, photo URL and source columns have no match in ApptOnly's import, so leave them unmapped.
